Day 01 – 03: IN LHASA

Our representatives warmly welcome you upon your arrival at the airport/train station. A short drive along the Lhasa river takes you to the holy city of Lhasa, nestled within a valley surrounded by barren mountains.

Even before reaching the city, you will catch your first glimpse of the magnificent Potala Palace, majestically perched on the red hill. Afterward, you will check into the hotel located in the old Tibetan area, renowned for its mystical Jokhang Temple and the bustling Bakhor street.

Over the next couple of days, we have carefully arranged visits to selected world heritage sites and significant Tibetan Buddhist sites, allowing you ample time to acclimate to the altitude and overcome jet lag. You can enjoy strolling alongside devoted local pilgrims on the bustling Bakhor street and exploring the enchanting cobbled lanes winding through the ancient buildings of Drepung and Sera Monastery.

Our knowledgeable guides will provide comprehensive historical and cultural explanations to enrich your experience. These days offer flexibility, allowing you to explore the town at your own leisure and spend time mingling with the locals on the Bakhor street.

Additionally, we arrange special experiences such as short visits to typical Tibetan village families or opportunities to receive rare sacred blessings from esteemed lamas, based on our clients’ interests

Day 04: DAY TOUR TO NAMTSO LAKE

After acclimating to the plateau climate and altitude for several days, we embark on a drive to the northern nomadic grassland.

Following the Qinghai-Tibet highway alongside the newly constructed train track, we enter the Changthang, the northern nomadic plain.

Crossing the Legan La Pass at an altitude of 5190m, you will be amazed by the breathtaking first view of the sacred Namtso Lake to the west and the Thangula Range in the far north.

In the afternoon, we explore the picturesque Tashi Do promontory. The stunning scenery of the holy lake is inseparable from local culture and mythical folklore.

According to beliefs, the lake is home to dragons, which become visible during thunderstorms. It is worth following the pilgrimage trail, circumambulating the hill while passing by the long mani-stone wall and mystical caves. Moreover, during the summer months, the lake is adorned by flocks of migratory bird species taking rest during their long migration journey.

Day 05 - 07: RETING-TRIDRUM-GANDEN MONASTERY

This Spiritual Tour concludes with a remarkable drive through off-the-beaten-track alpine valleys, traversing isolated villages and encountering nomadic families, exemplifying the rural beauty of the region.

We then reach the tranquil Reting Monastery and the Buddhist retreat at Tridrum Nunnery, far removed from the crowded tourist areas. Here, you will have the opportunity to meditate and immerse yourself in the serene surroundings.

Reting Monastery, the principal seat of the Kadampa school, is nestled amidst remarkable juniper trees on the lower slopes of Mt. Gangi Rarwa, playing a significant role in Tibetan history and religion during its prime.

Following the Reting River and passing several ancient Kadampa stupas along the route, we arrive at Tridrum Nunnery, located in the basin valley. The abundant prayer flags adorning the stream symbolize the spiritual devotion of local pilgrims. A short hike to the retreat caves behind the nunnery provides a picturesque view of the valley.
